Hi, I am Thao (Selena, Dieu or Dieu Thao just Thao ),

My name is Dieu Thao, which means Miracle Herbs. I was born in Central Highlands, Vietnam. I lived there for around 11 years. After the divorce, my mom decided to uproot my ‘new’ family (she and myself) to a small village in Northern Vietnam. This is the first time I had experienced what took me many years to put a name on it: “culture shock”. Currently, I am based in Dublin, Ireland.

This blog has been published since 2015 when I was studying an undergraduate programme in Viet Nam. It was not made for a personal brand or a specific type of content/ purpose. Initially, I just wanted to create my own space where I write to express my personal life and mainly to write book reviews. There are so many years…and I am still writing. 

I was thinking back and forth that what is the reason why I write this blog and what I should do to continue it. I realise that I am a person who loves myself and enjoys lifelong learning and continuous improvement of key aspects of my life. I came up with the thought that: when we go to school or the workplace, we always have an exercise/ homework/ project we need to commit and put effort to achieve the target/ achievement. So, in my opinion, my body which is nourished by many many body cells is also a big lifelong project. A project acquired my time, and my energy as I have been spending on other “projects”. Here, in most of my posts, I am vulnerable to sharing my world as I embark the self-learning and inner-self-exploration journey. 

Most of the content has been written in Vietnamese language, however, I am trying to write more in English. All English content will be appeared under the category “Writing in English” where I share the stories written in English, only. English is not my first language, my English level is C1 CEFR and go the way to achieve the highest level C2, I am grateful and welcome any feedback in the way I use English.
